It happens when you least expect it: the cold air stinging your thighs, groin area, and buttocks hits you on the road, distracting you from pedaling. It marks the moment when summer bib shorts are no longer warm enough, but we're not quite ready to put on tights. Introducing the EQUIPE RS S9 Spring/Fall Bib Shorts, suitable for cool autumn and spring rides when shorts are a must, but with a dose of comfort that warms the thighs and provides protection.

Based on the EQUIPE RS S9 concept, these bib shorts use A-Lock Engineering to support the shorts and ensure they remain stable in the most demanding racing conditions. The bib shorts' thigh panels are crafted from our brushed Osmos Heavy fabric, making an excellent addition to this rugged concept. This is the latest addition to our worsted fabric family and its two-in-one technical composition offers a variety of benefits.

The first is that the combed inner side is extremely insulating, breathable and extremely soft in contact with the skin. The outer side of a warp knit acts as a protector, further supporting the leg muscles thanks to the compressive structure. Together, these two components of the fabric create a pleasant compressive hold on the legs, promoting circulation and making the heat uniform throughout. Ultra Sphere in the twinDeck two-layer structure to block cold in the groin area while maintaining breathability.

For the insert, we've incorporated our race-proven EQUIPE RS, without the Cooler vents, in the signature basalt colorway, featuring superAir microShock foam, a 3D waffle top layer, ASSOS-exclusive goldenGate technology and a horizontal coordinator on the back.

A-Lock Engineering™ : S9 system composed of technologies and fabrics in harmony to provide stability to the shorts and keep the chamois in place.

Osmos Heavy : This neatly knitted fabric is the main fabric of the bib shorts and is also the heaviest of the Osmos combed family (290 g/m2), featuring asymmetrical stretch and a soft, durable structure. High levels of thermal insulation are provided by the combed side in contact with the skin.

Sfera Ultra : Used in our twinDeck two-layer construction, shown on the front crotch panel, for insulation. A patented, waterproof, windproof, and highly breathable double-layer softshell fabric with a taped PU membrane for additional water repellency, maximizing insulation while minimizing bulk. Weight: 150 g/m2; Stretch: 2-way.

rollBar : a patented system, provided for support, that emulates the anti-roll bars of a racing car by using the straps of the shoulder straps to stabilize the pad and keep it in place whenever you take a corner by shifting your body weight from right to left.

ergoBox : a square-design construction that effectively frames the caseback at the rear, recessing it for greater stability.

Butterfly design : The main fabric panel completely wraps around the lower back and legs, then converges at the back. The reduced number of seams ensures a more uniform seal, lighter weight, and improved comfort.

Carbon Xbib : A single section of stretchy material folded over itself to form a structure and support, creating limited vertical stretch in the back. Just above the X-junction, we've used a more flexible material, incorporating an antibacterial carbon fiber weave, to wick away sweat and ensure it lies flat across the front.

Ultra-lightweight anti-slip leg system : a new structure protected by a Lycra leg band that adheres to the thigh, without silicone treatment, for soft and ultra-light protection.

EQUIPE RS seat pad (without kraterCooler holes) : Racing seat pad with elastic interface in 3D basalt colors, without kraterCooler ventilation holes on the front.

SuperAir microShock foam : an ultra-lightweight open-cell foam with a composition that responds to shock and shocks back to the original position, filling the gaps every time you change position on the saddle by shifting your weight.

3D : A patented three-layer perforated foam that increases breathability and eliminates excess weight.

goldenGate : a patented technology that interrupts the connections along both side panels of the caseback, offers more three-dimensional freedom of movement in this delicate area subject to rotational movements.

Horizontal stabilizer : a patented central seam that fixes the back of the pad to the outer fabric, thus preventing it from shifting whenever you pedal standing up.
