They have a breathable mesh and TPU upper and a specific sole that increases protection and improves stability on the steepest and most technical descents.

The large notch in the sole provides a more stable platform between the shoe and the pedal when you're not clipped in. The glass-fiber reinforced nylon midplate provides the rigidity needed to transfer power and control the bike. The AM7 absorbs less water and dries quickly.
