When you're tackling a challenging descent, the last thing you want to worry about is whether your helmet will provide enough protection. On the other hand, wearing a full-face helmet on every trail ride isn't practical. That's why we created the Ambush with ANGi —a lightweight helmet with plenty of coverage.

The new ANGi sensor will give you peace of mind—when paired with the Android or iOS app, the sensor detects falls and sends a text message to selected contacts on your phone. The sensor syncs with the app and STRAVA® to provide GPS-based activity tracking. Together with the creators of MIPS, we created MIPS SL—a new, ultralight, and extremely comfortable version of the MIPS concept, currently exclusive to Specialized helmets. MIPS SL essentially integrates MIPS technology into the helmet padding itself. The minimalist attachment system provides 10 to 15 mm of rotation in each direction, offering the same protective benefits as other MIPS systems, while also being very lightweight and comfortable.

The Ambush's wide coverage is made of impact-optimized, multi-density EPS foam, internally reinforced with an Aramid Matrix. Even with this increased protection, the profile is slim and comfortable. The Mindset 360 Fit system features five height positions, while an integrated dial allows for fine adjustment on the fly. The Ambush, with our "4th Dimension Cooling," is also highly ventilated thanks to large vents and vents, to prevent heat stroke on the hottest days. The micro-adjustable visor includes a slot for a DH goggle.
