This is a modern take on the wind jacket, the one you can keep in your pocket ready to throw on a long descent or for the first hour of riding until the day warms up. This jacket was originally very basic—a simple nylon poncho—but its lack of stretch meant it had to be cut at the hips to accommodate all body types, both on and off the bike. We completely rethought what a wind jacket should look like and how it should be constructed. We added side panels, and the sleeves are made of a highly stretchy yet tightly woven fabric that gives the jacket a modern, fitted look and retains more heat than a flapping jacket. We made it super compact so it can be stowed away in a jersey pocket taking up minimal space. The stretch panels are treated to be water-repellent, which will help in light drizzle, but it's not intended to be a true rain jacket.
