Features
BSA for Shimano Road
BSA is another name for English threading; it comes from British Standard Cycle. English threading on road bikes means a 68mm wide shell with a 34mm internal diameter and reverse threading on the drive side. It is the most common threading standard used today. This kit works with 24mm diameter thru-axle cranksets, found on Shimano, FSA, and Rotor, among others.
Choose between two cup bearings. Standard bearings offer low drag thanks to their hardened steel races and our ceramic balls. Coated bearings feature the same balls mounted on coated hardened steel races for longer life and lower bearing drag.
In the box
- 2 threaded cups with bearings.
- 2 dust covers with built-in spacers.
- Spacer tube.
- Fat all round.
- Sticker sheet.
- Code: 101308
Technical data
The English thread is easy to machine, and the reverse thread ensures the drive-side cup stays in place without additional effort. The 24mm spindles fit easily through the shell, allowing for the use of large bearings in the outer cups.
Put more energy into forward motion by reducing frictional resistance wherever you can. Standard CS bearings typically have a frictional resistance of 0.3-0.4 watts per set. This is in the range of a 75% reduction in drag compared to standard bottom brackets. CS bearings are 100% smoother and 15% harder than competing ceramic bearings. The bearings last at least 3 times longer than other bearings.
Race Day Grease, All Round, and Long Life are CS greases designed to help bearings run smoothly. The former provides the lowest drag, the latter the longest lifespan. All Round is available for road bearings, Long Life for MTB bearings. You can change the grease to optimize performance.
