2WAY-RELEASE: The release lever on RAPIDFIRE PLUS shifters is commonly called the "trigger" because it works like the trigger on a gun, which is pulled towards the grip. The release lever on RAPIDFIRE PLUS shifters from SHIMANO ALIVIO to XTR can be operated in this same way but offers the option of activating a release shift by pushing with the thumb.
