Description

Designed to elevate the riding experience on mixed terrain, from asphalt to gravel roads, the Sharq is the result of careful research, advanced engineering, and extensive design and testing to ensure the best possible performance. All this is achieved through a 100% controlled supply chain, with all components manufactured in Europe and assembled in our own factories.
The new Sharq features a 25 mm internal channel, a valid compromise both for road wheels with a minimum width of 30 mm, ensuring aerodynamics and improving rolling resistance, and for larger, knobby tires, offering effective support to the tire structure during off-road use. To make it compatible with tubeless systems and an inner tube, the rim is equipped with a mini-hook, ensuring maximum safety. As per Fulcrum practice, the bridge is undrilled and, therefore, tubeless-ready, without the need for additional rim tape.

2-Way Fit
Tubeless technology was adopted in the automotive industry, then in the motorcycle industry, and finally in cycling. After its debut with mountain bikes, it's time to "put it on the road": and that's what Fulcrum offers us. They developed 2-Way Fit™ technology to ensure perfect compatibility of their tubeless rims with standard clincher tires and tubes. 2-Way Fit™ wheels are perfectly versatile, perfect for any situation. Thanks to a special recess in the valve area, tube installation is performed with maximum precision, keeping the tube perfectly stable inside the tire. Even the valve for tubeless tires is safely seated, with the undoubted advantage of never having air leaks due to poor positioning during assembly. The advantages are clear: various tests have highlighted an unprecedented increase in smoothness. Since there's no inner tube, friction with the tire is eliminated, and the perfect fit of the tire on the rim prevents energy loss. A tubeless tire doesn't sag suddenly in the event of a puncture, a significant safety advantage. There's also no risk of pinch flats because there's no inner tube to break.

AFS axis system™
The Axial Fixing System™ is the solution developed by Fulcrum® for securing the disc brake to the hub. The constraint provided by the fixing contact surface, greater than with existing standards, allows for greater structural rigidity and therefore more precise and powerful braking.

USB™ - Ceramic Ultra Smooth Bearings™
Fulcrum® has always been recognized for the exceptional smoothness and reliability of its hubs. This is because all projects are developed in-house by the Fulcrum® R&D department, and every detail is meticulously cared for. Hubs equipped with USB™ (Ultra Smooth Bearings) ceramic bearings further enhance wheel smoothness and reduce weight and maintenance, making your road bike wheels a faithful ally. Comparative tests have shown that USB™ bearings are 50% smoother than standard bearings.

2:1 Two-to-One Spoke Ratio™ - Disc Brake
A simple yet effective system, born from the ingenuity of Fulcrum® engineers and careful observation of the results of tests conducted daily on Fulcrum wheels (road, mountain bike, and cyclocross wheels). These tests revealed that the forces acting on the sides of the wheel, and therefore on the spokes, are extremely different; not only that, but the differences between the front and rear wheels are also clear and significant. The front wheel must remain stable even during braking by the disc brake on the left side, while the rear wheel, in addition to making room for the cassette, must compensate for the pull of the force on the chain side.

MoMag™
A magnet, and so much ingenuity. This is how the patent for the proven "Mounting Magnet" system was born. The nipples, once inserted into the rim through the valve hole, are "guided" to the point where they attach to the spoke by the magnet. Thanks to this simple trick, it is possible to obtain a wheel without holes on the upper bridge, but with spokes tensioned by traditional nipples! The absence of holes on the rim also means a homogeneous product at every point, free of critical points or breakage zones. In fact, with clincher profiles, the use of rim tape is no longer necessary. The advantages are immediately noticeable: lighter weight, longer rim life, greater resistance to fatigue, the ability to tension the spokes more tightly, and greater rigidity which, in terms of performance, means greater responsiveness and acceleration.

The absence of holes on the upper deck means a product that is homogeneous at every point, free from critical points subject to stress.
