Gripton compound
The Gripton compound uses "predominantly synthetic rubber reinforced with silicon dioxide," which reduces the amount of energy lost through hysteresis. This essentially means less deformation, less heat buildup, and a more efficient tire with improved wear resistance compared to natural rubber. The Gripton compound is soft, allowing it to adapt and conform to rough surfaces. It has a durometer of 56A, making it much softer than other tires, meaning the tire not only conforms to the surface it is used on but also filters vibrations, producing a smoother ride.
